“Faces 2”

New Paintings

I create art to explore how place shapes perception and how crossing borders and lands—both physical and spiritual—can awaken the soul.

Growing up in Jamaica, my worldview was framed by the island’s shorelines. The island was both a source of life, inspiration and a quiet reminder of the boundaries that defined my world.

Moving to New England transformed my perspective. I entered a place where cultures intersect every day, where a multiplicity of traditions meet and evolve, and where identity is not a single narrative but a tapestry of many different voices. This diversity did more than challenge my assumptions—it expanded my capacity for empathy, creativity, and human connection.

My artistic practice is a conversation between these many worlds. I weave symbols from my Caribbean heritage with textures, forms, and visual rhythms inspired by New England’s cultural human landscape. Each piece celebrates the beauty of intersection, affirming that difference does not divide us—it deepens us. My work reflects the belief that transformation is not about abandoning who we are or where you are from, but about allowing every place we inhabit, every person we encounter, and every experience we embrace to add new perspectives to the canvas of our identities.
